We are very proud that many of our social workers and childcare team members have stayed with us for many years. Experienced and longstanding social care teams are critical for building meaningful relationships with young people as they help to provide a sense of safety, continuity, and stability for young people.
This April we are celebrating three of our longstanding social care staff who have been with Odyssey Social Care an incredible 5 years.
Their dedication has helped provide a vital foundation for our young people’s recovery from trauma and supported them to realise their potential.
Eva’s exceptional impact
Eva Creagh has been a hugely valuable member of the team for the last 5 years and recently joined one of our new homes, Barra Lodge. She has been committed to supporting our children and young people to settle into their new home through exceptional care.
Kirsty Murphy, Unit Manager at Barra Lodge, says: “Eva has been an invaluable member of the team here since we opened in July. Her warmth, kindness, and dedication to caring for the children in Barra have helped make our home what it is today.
“It has been a pleasure to work alongside Eva, and her easy-going, can-do attitude has been a tonic for us all. The impact her experience, knowledge, and leadership has had here is immeasurable.”
Claire’s immense contribution
Since joining Odyssey 5 years ago, Claire Daly has been instrumental in supporting the children and young people at Ashview Lodge.
Megan O’Mahony, Unit Manager, hailed her impact: “Claire is an asset to the Ashview team and Odyssey. Her level of childcare and dedication to our young people is unmatched.
“Her laughter is infectious, and she is a joy to be around, going above and beyond in how she contributes to young people’s lives.
“The success of the placements in Ashview is testament to Claire’s contribution. She truly is one in a million and is loved by young people and staff alike.”
Therese’s invaluable leadership
Social Care Leader Therese McAuley joined Odyssey as a Social Care Worker and has been based at Vale Lodge ever since.
Dara Cunningham, Social Care Manager, acknowledged: “Therese is an immensely important member of the team in Vale. Her commitment to caring for the children here has helped make our home a special place.
“With her sense of fun and supportive, caring nature, Therese is hugely popular with the young people and staff and is a pleasure to work alongside, going the extra mile for everyone.”
